How do I set up the phone/Text MFA method?

By adding a phone number, you can choose to receive either a phone call or a text message to prove who you are when signing in. Phone calls simply require you to answer a call and press #, text messages require you to enter a code sent to your phone.

  1. If you don’t still have it open, go to the MFA set up page: https://aka.ms/mfasetup

2. Select Add Method

3. Select Phone from the dropdown list, then select Add

4. Enter the phone number you want to use remembering to choose the correct Country code from the dropdown list (unfortunately we can’t set this to UK by default). Then select Call me and then Next

Your phone will ring. Answer the call and follow the prompts – this just asks you to press the Hash (#) key.

5. The screen will change to acknowledge that you have answered the call and approved the sign in. Select Done
