If you would like to be tested for autism you will need to discuss this with your doctor/ GP. The NHS website provides more information about getting an autism assessment.
It can be a long wait for an Autism assessment, but you don’t need a diagnosis to get a learning contract and support for your course. Please register with Disabled Student Support to disclose a disability and to access support.
To access funded support, for example from Disabled Students’ Allowances you will need evidence.

- a letter written and signed by your GP or healthcare professional.
- an Education, Health and Care Plan.
- a working diagnosis. We can accept a letter that confirms you have been referred for a diagnostic assessment.
