What is Study Goal
Study Goal is a tool used by Sheffield Hallam University to record learning analytics data. It combines digital footprint data from university digital systems with grades and past academic history to support students' learning journeys and improve their experience and engagement. All undergraduate and postgraduate students are required to record their attendance for taught sessions using Study Goal, which helps track engagement with courses and facilitates informed conversations with academic advisers. The data is only accessible to the student, their academic adviser, and select support staff, and is governed by the University's Learning Analytics Code of Practice.
You can read details about this in the Student Engagement Policy.
If you are on a student visa, find out the specific arrangements for monitoring your attendance and engagement.
Study Goal is an app developed by Jisc and is linked to the university’s central learning analytics system which is called ‘Jisc Learning Analytics’.
Study Goal can be accessed using the following link: https://student.la.jisc.ac.uk.
Academic Advisers, Student Support Advisers, and other colleagues across the university use the student engagement data collected in Jisc Learning Analytics to support students.
