Logging in

As a student at Hallam, a Google account will automatically be created for you. You will need to log into this account if you are trying to access certain shared resources that are only accessible from a SHU Google account.

To access your SHU Google account, go to go.shu.ac.uk/google and enter your SHU login details.

Alternatively you can go to Google's homepage, and select the Sign in button in the top-right.

Then enter your login details. Your login will be your email in the format "********@student.shu" and your SHU password.

Alternatively, if you are using Google Chrome as your web browsed, you can sign in by selecting the option in the top-right corner of your browser.

Account Conflict

If you already have a personal Google account, which you use on the same device as your SHU Google account, please ensure when you use Google apps to access your university work, that you have logged in with your SHU account. Even if you have logged in with your SHU account, you may still be using your personal account, as Google can allow you to be signed in with multiple accounts at once, and can often switch back to previous accounts as default.
If you are having an issue keeping track of which Google account you are using, you can simplify the logging in process by creating a separate desktop shortcut for your SHU Google account. Using that shortcut will then ensure that you are using Google with your SHU account.

To do this, click on your Google profile image in the top-right of your browser, and select the Customise Profile option. Then scroll down and check the Create Desktop Shortcut option.
