Your diagnostic assessment report has been reviewed and has identified specific learning difficulties.

A copy of your report is saved on My Student Record for you to access.

What happens next?

  • Disabled Student Support will create a basic learning contract for you. This will be sent to you separately by email, and you need to read and approve this on My Student RecordWhen you have approved your learning contract, your coursework will be marked for content and ideas (evidence of knowledge, intention, correct responses and relevant thinking) and not for accurate spelling and punctuation unless this is a specific requirement of assessment.  You need to attach a marking cover sheet to your work before handing it in. If spelling and punctuation are a specific requirement of the assessment then you will still be marked down for any inaccuracies.
  • You need to apply for Disabled Student Allowances through Student Finance Wales. Click here to begin your application.
  • Three weeks after you have applied for Disabled Student Allowances you will receive a letter from Student Finance Wales to confirm your eligibility and to advise you to book a Study Needs Assessment. Please contact the Sheffield Regional Assessment Centre on 0114 225 3623 or by email at assesssment-centre@shu.ac.uk to make this appointment.
