If you are recommended a support worker you will need to make sure that you have contacted your supplier.
Students who have Disabled Student Allowances:
You will need to contact the supplier listed on your Disabled Student Allowances entitlement letter (sometimes called a DSA2)
This document will be emailed to you from Student Finance. If you can't find the document there should be a copy saved to My Student Record for you to access. Open the document and find the section called 'non-medical helper's allowance' and contact the suppliers listed.
Students who do not have Disabled Student Allowances:
Sheffield Hallam University will be responsible for providing your support workers. You will need to contact our Support Worker team by email on firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please include in your email:
- Your full name and student number
- The support type you require
- Any sessions that you do not want support for (e.g. No note taker needed for practical sessions and all IT sessions etc.)
If you're unsure which support you're entitled to please drop in and talk to us, no appointment needed just turn up.
