An example of adjustments to exams in your Learning Contract may include:
- resitting your exam again without penalty
- having extra time to finish your exam
- having additional break time during exams
If you are permitted rest breaks during your exam, the finish time of your exam, including all allocated breaks will be stated on your timetable.
You are allowed 15mins break time every hour.
You will need to tell the invigilator when you want to have a rest break.
This recommendation has been based on your disability and not your course. It's important to talk to staff on your course to agree to exam adjustments.
You can do this in person, by phone, or by email.
You can use this email template:
Dear academic staff member,
My learning contract states 'adjustment to exams required'. I would like to discuss suitable adjustments
Please can we meet to discuss this / discuss this over the phone / discuss this by email (delete or add as necessary).
If you have problems agreeing adjustments, book an appointment with a disability adviser.
