This article applies to you if you have the recommendation 'adjustments to groupwork' in your Learning Contract. Please note that although Disabled Student Support have made the recommendation based on your disability, it is important you communicate with teaching staff to ensure group work adjustments can be accommodated within the learning outcomes of the assessment/activity.
There are many adjustments that could be applied to group work. They could include:
- working in a smaller group
- being able to choose the people in your group
- being allocated to a group so you don’t have to approach people to join one yourself
If you are uncertain about how to approach your tutor, you can use this email template (adapt as necessary):
Dear STAFF NAME,
I have a learning contract which includes adjustments to group work. I would like to discuss suitable adjustments with you for INCLUDE INFO ON GROUP WORK.
Please can we arrange a time to meet to discuss this.
