A study exchange allows you to experience living and studying in a country outside the UK.

Studying abroad gives you the opportunity to gain professional and personal skills which you can put on your CV, helping you to stand out to future employers.

We work with worldwide institutions to give you a variety of studying abroad options. Visit our partner institutions page to find out what we have available.

How to apply

To apply to study abroad, you will need to submit an Expression of Interest Form.  The Study Abroad campaign opens each November for the majority of students in Level 4 and a small number of students in Level 5.  The campaign is open for several months and this is the only chance to apply for this opportunity. If you are unsure if you are eligible please speak to your Department's Academic Internationalisation Lead.

The form will ask you for your top three choices of institutions (where applicable) and also a personal statement.

You will need to provide us with reasons why you think studying abroad will support your future studies and how you plan to be a positive ambassador for the University while you are away.

Visit our study abroad page to find out when you can apply.
