You and your dependants may be able to extend your visas with the help of a specialist adviser in the International Experience Team. You must contact us, at least 3 months before your visa is due to expire, to book a visa appointment to check if you are eligible to apply from inside the UK.

Go to shu.ac.uk/myhallam/support-at-hallam/international-experience to book an appointment with an adviser. They will then book you a visa eligibility appointment. The adviser appointments take place each weekday between 10am-11:30am and 2pm-3:30pm.

During the visa eligibility appointment, the adviser will:

  • Check that you are eligible to apply for a visa extension inside the UK
  • Help you complete a CAS request form which will be sent to your college Academic Administration team for processing
  • Explain which documents you will need to extend your visa and the associated costs
  • Send you an information leaflet with the link to the visa application form and supporting documents and further instructions

Once we have established that you are eligible to extend your stay in the UK, we will offer a second appointment to check your application form and documents, when you have everything ready and are able to make the application online. During the second appointment, we will help you pay and upload your documents to the Home Office website. visa visa visa visa visa visa international
